Partnering to reduce plastic pollution
8 million tons of plastic enter the ocean every year. Experts say that by 2050, there could be more plastic in the ocean than fish.
A major contributor to this plastic pollution are single-use plastics which are used in many food products, including Chomps. While we continue to explore other packaging options in the future, there is currently no immediate alternative available. Chomps understands its role in creating waste and wants to be a leader in offsetting it.
That’s why we teamed up with 4ocean, a global cleanup operation dedicated to cleaning up and preserving the ocean by removing plastic pollution.
Through this partnership, for every pound of plastic used in Chomps packaging, one pound of plastic will be removed from the ocean, coastlines, and coastal communities.
Our Partnership in Action

REDUCING
PLASTIC USE
In 2023, we reduced the amount of plastic used in our 8ct and 12ct pouches, which resulted in a total reduction of 100,000 pounds of plastic in 2024 alone. We predict this number could double in 2025.

REDUCING
FOOD WASTE
Last year, we donated over 1 million meat sticks with “cosmetic defects” or ones nearing expiration dates to partners who serve their communities.

CONTINUOUSLY
IMPROVING
We are always looking for ways to improve our products and impact that we make as a brand. We constantly evaluate the materials we use and our processes to see how we can improve our environmental footprint.
