For Thanksgiving this year, we're making a homemade orange cranberry sauce to bring to the table. If you're like us, cranberry sauce is a must on those Thanksgiving leftover sandwiches or as a the sweet side for your plate of mashed potatoes, stuffing and turkey.
Ingredients:
12 oz cranberries
¼ cup orange juice
2 tbsp of maple syrup
1 tsp vanilla extract
Orange zest from one orange
Directions:
1. Combine all ingredients in a pan on low heat aside from orange zest for about 5-10 minutes.
2. Then turn it on to medium heat until cranberries start popping. Once the cranberries start to burst and “melt” (about 10 min) and then simmer on low.
3. Add in zest after cranberries have emulsified a bit. Turn off heat and let cool for 5 min and add into serving dish.
4. Garnish with orange zest!
