St. Patrick’s Day is coming up and it sure is fun to make everything green to celebrate. In Chicago, they even color the river green to honor the day.

The link between green and St. Patrick’s Day started because it was the color that represented the nationalist rebellion of 1641. Since then, green has been the color associated with Ireland and the festive holiday (even if its beginnings weren’t so festive).

If you are hosting a St. Patrick’s Day party, or just want to get into the holiday mood, here are some of our best green snacks for a color party that matches the day’s theme.

Top Green Snacks for Your Party

If you are looking for quick green snack ideas to celebrate the day, add to a lunchbox, or for a color party, we have you covered. Here are our favorite green snacks for a color party and beyond:

Healthy Green Snacks

Monochromatic charcuterie board

This monochromatic (green and white) charcuterie board is the perfect snack for St. Patrick’s Day. It includes a variety of snacks that are green and white, including our Jalapeno Chomps.

Cucumber and hummus dip

Be sure to keep the skin on the cucumber for this one. Slice cucumber in rounds or sticks and serve with a side of hummus or your favorite dip.

Zucchini chips

These chips are crispy, fried zucchini that can be enjoyed as green snacks for party events. Find them at health food stores where you find other vegetable “chips”.

Pickles

A large dill pickle is a low calorie healthy green snack. Or maybe you might enjoy the spears instead. Pick your favorite and enjoy the salty crunch.

Kale chips

These chips are crunchy dried kale that make for a nutritious green snack. You can cook them yourself by tossing them in olive oil, spreading them on a sheet pan, and baking at 350 degrees for 20-30 minutes.

Green Packaged Snacks

If you are looking for bites on the go, here are some suggestions for green-packaged snacks that can work for St. Patrick’s Day.

Jalapeno beef sticks

Our Chomps Jalapeno beef sticks in either full size or Chomplings come in a vibrant green package perfect for the occasion. They also add a nice spice as an afternoon snack.

Seaweed snacks

Freeze-dried seaweed comes in a package ready to enjoy. As far as green snacks for a color party are concerned, they’re loaded with minerals and can be found in a variety of yummy flavors.

Apple sauce packets

Apple sauce packets make great green snacks for party time. In particular, we like those by GoGo squeeZ, which provide a nice dose of fruits (and sometimes vegetables) in a bright green package.

Dried snap peas

Dried snap peas can be found packaged and come in a variety of flavors, like ranch or cheddar. These green foods for a color party provide a nice crunch and make a great alternative to potato chips or other savory snacks.

Nature Valley granola bars

Nature Valley classic crunchy granola bars come in a green package ready to be tossed into a lunchbox. They also can be enjoyed as green snacks for a party.

These Jalapeno poppers are also Whole 30 compliant because they use non-dairy cream cheese instead of regular. While they take a bit of time to put together, they make delicious St. Patrick's Day green snacks for a party.

Spinach artichoke dip

Spinach artichoke dip is always a party favorite and simple to pull together beforehand. Be sure to serve it hot, so the cheese stays super melty.

This pea pasta salad uses multiple green vegetables to create a beautiful and tasty salad. The recipe also includes homemade dressing for flavor.

Pesto pepperoni pizza

This pizza uses green pesto as a base instead of tomato sauce. We’ve topped it with our favorite Chomps meat sticks, but you could also add more green veggies to enhance its festive color.

This green recipe starts with grilled avocados and then stuffs them with a quinoa mango salad. These green snacks for a color party would be a hearty addition to your St. Patrick’s Day celebration.
