New Year's Eve is a time to celebrate the end of the holidays and look forward to the year ahead. Maybe you prefer to ring in the new year in your pajamas at home or at a party with hundreds of your closest friends. No matter where you celebrate, New Year’s Eve snacks will probably be part of the festivities.

To help you celebrate in the best way possible, we gathered our favorite New Year’s snack ideas that will delight your guests or even just for you to enjoy on your couch.

New Year’s Eve Snack Ideas Your Guests Will Love

In our list of 30 snacks for New Year, you will find finger foods, yummy dips, healthy options, and other ideas that are right on theme with the night’s celebration. Let’s dive into our favorite celebratory holiday snack ideas

New Year’s Eve Finger Foods

Finger foods are a must-have for any large New Year celebration, making it easy for guests to mingle while munching. Here are some of our ideas for fork-free New Year’s Eve party snacks.

Caprese salad sticks

Not only do these look pretty displayed on a plate, but they are also super easy to make. Just get some decorative toothpicks and add a mini mozzarella ball, a cherry tomato, and a basil leaf. Drizzle with a balsamic glaze before serving.

Mini beef stick skewers

Similar to the Caprese salad sticks, you can make a snack using Chomps beef sticks, cheese, and olives. Grab those toothpicks, chop up our beef sticks, slide on a cube of cheese, and an olive at the top to create a colorful New Year’s Eve party snack that will look cute on any table.

Stuffed mushrooms

Stuffed mushrooms are an easy-to-throw-together snack that can include a variety of yummy toppings. Our version has Chomps Italian beef sticks, parmesan, and cream cheese with a few seasonings.

Mini zucchini pizza

If you are trying to keep your New Year's snacks low carb this year, consider these mini zucchini pizzas made with a slice of zucchini topped with your favorite pizza toppings, like cheese, pepperoni, or veggies.

Bite-sized crostini

Crostini is a little piece of toasty bread that can be topped with a variety of toppings for a bite-sized snack. Start with some kind of base whether it be cream cheese or another spread to help the toppings stick, then load up the crostini with cheese slices, sliced Chomps, and your favorite veggies.

Mini quiches

Mini quiche bites can be found in the freezer section of most grocery stores. They are easy to pop in the oven and serve as a bite-sized snack.

Cocktail meatballs

For a high protein option, consider cocktail meatballs. You can make the meatballs yourself or use frozen ones. Add your favorite sauce (think BBQ or this yummy chili and grape jelly sauce) and let them simmer in a crockpot to stay warm. Serve with toothpicks.

Bacon-wrapped jalapeno poppers

Jalapeno poppers are a bit labor-intensive to prepare, but they taste amazing. Just slice fresh jalapenos in half, fill with cream cheese, and wrap with bacon. Bake for 20-25 minutes at 400 degrees.

Crowd-Pleasing Dips

Dips of any kind are always a crowd pleaser and they can be a great way to sneak in some extra veggies to get a head start on those New Year’s resolutions. Here are a few of our favorite dips for your New Year’s Eve party.

Spinach and artichoke dip

Spinach artichoke dip is a classic creamy dip with a few veggies snuck in (who tastes them anyway)? Our version is served with Chomps meat sticks and tortilla chips to dip, but you could also add carrot or celery sticks.

Creamy guacamole with veggie sticks

Guacamole can be homemade or store-bought for easier prep. A variety of veggie sticks is always a great option for a dip, but you could also do tortilla chips for a classic option.

Beet hummus

We often think of hummus as a tan color dip, but our version adds roasted beets to the mix to create this beautiful reddish-purple color. The beets don’t change the flavor significantly but boost the nutrition by adding in more fiber and antioxidants called anthocyanins.

Caramelized onion dip

Do you love a delicious French Onion dip? Our homemade version is higher in protein using Greek yogurt as the base and caramelized onions for even more flavor. You won’t even miss the store-made kind.

Crudite and ranch cups

Our crudite and ranch cups are a dressed-up version of veggies and ranch. We started by making homemade ranch dressing and then added a variety of dippers such as veggie sticks, cheese cubes, and our favorite beef Chomplings.

Buffalo chicken dip

Buffalo sauce is a great way to add a lot of flavor to any dip and it is super simple to make. Just mix canned chicken, buffalo sauce, cream cheese, shredded cheddar, and ranch dressing in a pan and let it melt together for 3-5 minutes. Transfer to a slow cooker to keep warm and serve with veggies.

Tzatziki dip

Tzatziki is a Greek dip made with shredded cucumbers, dill, and Greek yogurt. It tastes delicious with veggie sticks, pita bread triangles, or your favorite Chomps meat sticks.

Healthy New Year’s Eve Snacks

If you are looking for a healthier option for an NYE snack, there are plenty! Here are some of our favorite options.

Baked kale chips

Baked kale chips are simple to make and a great way to get a ton of nutrition in a crispy bite. It just involves roasting lightly seasoned kale for 25-40 minutes until it gets crispy, then enjoy!

Healthy charcuterie board

A charcuterie board is a must-have for any NYE party, so why not make it healthy? Load it with fruits, veggies, Chomps meat sticks, olives, whole grain crackers, and cheese.

Turkey cranberry pinwheels

These cranberry turkey pinwheels are colorful and festive and would look great on any New Year’s Eve party platter. They are also a good source of fiber and protein, using whole grain tortillas, turkey, and Chomps Habanero beef sticks for flavor.

Deviled egg bar

Deviled eggs are always a crowd pleaser and also a great source of protein. You can make your “bar” even healthier by including lots of veggies for toppings. Check out some of our ideas here

Roasted chickpeas

Roasted chickpeas are a crunchy snack that can be flavored in a variety of ways for a high fiber, high protein snack. Dry canned chickpeas well with a paper towel, season, and roast at 425 degrees until crispy.

Fresh fruit kabobs with yogurt dip

Adding a fruit or veggie to your New Year's spread is a great way to make the snacks a bit healthier. Fruit kabobs look so pretty on a festive table. Choose your favorite fruits, put them on a skewer, and serve with flavored Greek yogurt as a dip.

Stuffed dates

Stuffed dates look fancy, but are quite easy to make. Purchase pitted dates and stuff with goat cheese or nut butter for a delicious sweet and salty treat.

Banana sushi

Start by peeling a banana, slice it into rounds, spread a bit of nut butter on each slice, and sprinkle with yummy toppings like coconut, chopped nuts, or granola. Drizzle with chocolate for a yummy, but healthy treat.

Themed and Festive Options

If you want to keep your New Year’s Eve party snacks on theme, consider some of these festive ideas.

Star-shaped sandwiches

Make some tea sandwiches with your favorite sandwich toppings, like cucumbers and cream cheese or turkey and cheese. Then use a star-shaped cookie cutter to slice them into stars for an on-theme snack.

Black-eyed pea fritters

Champagne Gelee with berries

Gelee is basically a fancy jello dessert made from champagne, but it looks oh-so-pretty on a New Year’s table. Check out this recipe to learn how to make it.

What to Look for in the Perfect New Year’s Eve Snacks

When selecting your ideal menu for your NYE party, here are a few things to consider:

  • Portability: Snacks should be easy for guests to grab and enjoy while mingling. Don’t serve anything that requires a fork and knife to consume.
  • Festive Appeal: Everyone is looking for a little fun at a NY party, so add a bit of flair with themed decorations or unique plating of your chosen snacks.
  • Balanced Flavors: Choose a variety of different flavors. Be sure to include savory, sweet, and spicy options.
  • Ease of Preparation: Choose easy-to-prepare snacks. It's ok to choose frozen or pre-made options that are simple to make or can be prepared ahead of time, people are coming to celebrate and be together, not to focus on how many hours you spend in the kitchen.

Make Your Party a Success with the Perfect Snacks for New Year’s Eve

One of the most effective ways to create a memorable and crowd-pleasing spread is to encourage guests to personalize their own snacking experience. Mix sweet and savory elements, like pairing dried apricots with mild cheese or crunchy seeded crackers with tangy dips. Chomps meat sticks make a great salty and high protein option to add to any spread.

Wishing you a prosperous new year!
